In January of 2014, then Camden County Presiding Commissioner Kris Franken and Second District Commissioner Cliff Luber voted to make a policy change regarding complaints of the Unified Land Use Code. The new policy stated that complaints had to be written, notarized, and signed before Planning and Zoning could investigate. Current Presiding Commissioner Greg Hasty says there’s one issue with that policy.
A policy change must first go through a public hearing and vote by the Planning and Zoning Commission before going to the County Commission. The ordinance has been voided.
