Camden County’s Highway Department is preparing for the winter driving season. Highway Administrator Lee Schuman says they’re testing their trucks, plows, and spreaders to make sure everything’s in working order to allow them to tackle winter weather on their 900+ miles of road. Schuman says they’ll continue their prep work over the next month.
They’ll be ordering extra chains for the spreaders as well. Schuman says they county’s salt supply is already full and ready to go…
but he says it’s not just for snowfall.
Schuman says buying the salt in the summer saves the county about $10 per ton.
