Just say “no” and hang up. That’s some friendly advice being offered by the Camden County Sheriffs Department when it comes to a number of telephone scams. One scam, which has yet to be reported in the Lake Area, involves the caller asking you a question trying to get you to respond with the word “yes” which they can then use as a recorded authorization to access any number of accounts you may have.
Lieutenant Arlyne Page says the best advice if you have any doubt is to hang up and, if you are able to, block the number and then report the call to your local authorities to get it on record just in case you become a victim.
