Camden County Announces Change to Courthouse Inclement Weather Policy

Local News Monday, February 3rd, 2020

In light of recent discussions centering around the closure of the courthouse during inclement weather, the Camden County Commission has adopted a new policy. The former policy of closing the administrative building to synchronize with the Camdenton R3 School District being closed had generally been functioning well until this year. That’s according to a press release issued on Monday by the commission saying the “unpredictable nature of mid-Missouri weather has caused the practice to become unwieldy and cumbersome.” The new policy now states that the administrative building, effective immediately, will no longer close due to inclement weather regardless of whether the school district is closed or not. The release also indicates any future closures will only result from a specific directive from the Camden County Commission.
