There was as following the statewide trends a large turnout at the Camden County Republican caucus. Although compared with the reports of police intervention and fighting this was quiet compared to the other caucuses across the state. Camden County drew a total of 166 Republican voters from the area to select local delegates for the congressional caucus in April. Also there were delegates chosen for the state convention later in the summer as well. Although some Republican caucuses made noise and news across the state in comparison Camden County’s went relatively smoothly. The local Republican voters met and discussed allotment of delegates at the Camden County Courthouse. There were 21 delegates up for grabs and by a large majority, most of the voters stood behind Rick Santorum for the 2012 presidential nomination.
