UPDATE: Deputy Casey Marks has been flown to Columbia to be seen by a neurosurgeon. There are at least a couple of vertebrae in his chest area that are fractured with pieces of bone near the spinal cord.
3 compressed fractures, they will heal on there own. They have decided against surgery. He will have to be in a brace for awhile, but in about 6 weeks, he should be good to go. He is staying up there tonight to make sure he doesn’t have anything else pop up in the middle of the night. But he should be kicked loose tomorrow.
There has been an accident this evening involving a Camden County Sheriff’s deputy. The accident occurred on MM. It’s believed that the deputy flipped his cruiser while en route to another call. Sheriff Tony Helms says the deputy is complaining of soreness in his back but appears to have avoided any major injuries.
