If the COVID pandemic wasn’t enough, Camden County has just been slapped with another issue…
According to a release sent out by a California based law firm and not the commission itself, the county government was recently attacked by online hackers.
The release says “at this time, the county is not aware of any unauthorized disclosure of personal data or financial information.”
It’s not the first time this has happened to the commission either. Back in 2016 they were attacked and the FBI had to get involved.
No further details in the hacking have been released.
The Hack did not affect the Camden County Sheriff’s operations, but Sheriff Tony Helms did indicate he was “unable to access payrolls” due to the computer issues.
