Camden County officials are looking at different options that could affect 260 employees due to the rising cost of health insurance premiums. The Camden County Commission is looking into possibly switching to a self funded plan which could save the county tens of thousands of dollars. It would also allow employees to continue receiving health insurance at no cost but they would have to pay premiums for dependents. Under the current plan, the cost per employee is around $450 a month and with a projected 25 percent increase for next year, the total cost to the county would be nearly $1.9 million dollars which is an increase of about $400 thousand dollars from 2014.
