Every three years the Camden County Museum does a Civil War reenactment at the gun club. Valerie Thomas is the coordinator for the event and she says the roots of the Civil War run deep in Missouri.
The reenactment is based around the Battle of Mundy’s Hollow, which occurred in Camden County. In preparation for the last reenactment, the commission donated $2,000 but, based on a recommendation by Second District Commissioner Don Williams, they have agreed to up that donation to $3,000. Thomas says they estimate a total cost of $17,000. The event will take place on June 9th and 10th of next year.
