Road work along Highway 54 continues in Camden County. The section of 54 between Route 7 and Cecil Street will experience occasional closures in both directions as pedestrian improvements continue. That work is set to be finished by the end of this month. Another section of 54, between the Niangua River Bridge and Route BB into Hickory County, is being turned into a four lane roadway, which is causing delays. A pilot car is currently being used to guide motorists through the area. That project isn’t scheduled to finish until this fall. Also, a Camden County bridge is set to close for replacement later this month. The Route D bridge over Bank Branch will close on June 15th. The 58 year old bridge is located about four miles south of Route 54 in Camden County and twelve miles north of Route E in Laclede County. The work will not effect Ha Ha Tonka State Park as the entrance is north of the closure. The project is set to be completed in mid-August.
