It is Halloween which, no doubt, means local authorities will be busy patrolling the streets and trying to keep things in order for the night. In Camden County, part of those duties will deal with community policing and the sheriff’s department putting on a kid-friendly haunted house. The ghosts and ghouls, consisting of deputies and others within the department, will converge on 330 Panoramic for the event which, according to Captain Chris Twitchell, won’t cost anything to be a part of.
The donations will be used for the Shop with a Cop program. Sheriff Tony Helms says it’s just another way to give back to the community and there was no shortage of volunteers from his department to help out with the cause.
No county funds are being spent in the putting on of the haunted house. The doors will open around 6:00.
