We recently reported on an announcement from State Fair Community College and the University of Central Missouri in which they reported that they’ll be starting a new police training academy. Now the Camden County Sheriff’s Office has announced that they’ll be hosting an academy starting in January. The 700-hour course is a part-time academy, allowing students to live at home and work their regular jobs while attending. The instructors include working or retired deputies, police officers, highway patrol troopers, federal law enforcement officers, and others. They are all POST certified. You can download an application for the academy through the Missouri Sheriff’s Association website, www.mosheriffs.com.
