The Camden County Sheriff’s Office says it got over 1-thousand calls for service during the first week of August.
That’s up from an average of around 600 calls for service and the influx of people coming to Lake of the Ozarks explains the increase.
Captain Chris Twitchel tells KRMS News it’s not hard to avoid complications with police while visiting the lake.
Twitchel says crimes being committed are lining up with the ratio of people coming to the Lake Area.
Some tourism officials say Lake of the Ozarks is setting records for tourism in 2020.
