Several people were on hand for this week’s Camdenton board of alderman meeting as two controversial issues were slated to be discussed. One of those issues was the proposed name change for the city’s airport which is being discussed in further detail during today’s meeting of the airport advisory board. The other controversial issue dealt with the city’s pit bull ordinance. Camdenton resident misty brown was told that she cannot keep her American bulldogs in the city due to a long standing ordinance banning certain breeds of dogs. Weeks after purchasing her home, brown was ticketed and told she had to remove her dogs. With her attorney at her side, she asked the board to let her keep her dogs and revisit the city’s ordinance. After an hour of discussion, the board did not grant brown’s request but are expected to discuss the issue further at the next board meeting.
