Employees with the City of Camdenton could be making a little more money over the next year. When the Board of Aldermen meets Tuesday night, they’ll be discussing a recommended pay raise for all workers. The raises are based on sales tax revenues collected by the city. The recommended increase amounts to fifty-cents per hour for hourly workers, with salaried employees receiving the equivalent of $1,040 for the year. The City of Camdenton is looking to purchase some dilapidated buildings. The city has reached an agreement to buy the former Night Hawk and Kitty Hawk buildings on West Highway 54 for about $8600. There have been concerns expressed over safety at those locations due to continued deterioration of the buildings. Plans call for the buildings to be torn down to clear the way for additional parking and transportation improvements. The Board of Aldermen will vote on approval of the purchase at their meeting Tuesday night. Annexation requests and a memorandum of understanding with the Camdenton swim team also appear on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting, which begins at 6pm.
