Representatives from Missouri State University made a presentation at the Camdenton Board of Aldermen Meeting Tuesday night. They showed the board their plans to utilize the old firehouse as a training facility for law enforcement. At their previous meeting on the 2nd, the board approved a contract with Bales Construction and a Memorandum of Understanding with the college. Since then, the contractor has demolished the interior and picked out the carpet, vinyl, and paint they’ll be using for the renovated facility.
Also during their meeting Tuesday night, the board voted to accept new water and sewer rates. The new rates include raising the late penalty fee from 1.5% of the bill to 10%, as well as changing the reconnect fee to $25 for the first offense in a twelve month period, $50 for a second, and $100 for a third. Due to the vote, the base rate for water will also rise from $10 to $11, while sewer will go from $8.28 to $9.00.
