The city of Camdenton wants to crack down on businesses operating without safety inspections or business licenses. An ordinance on the agenda for Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen meeting would require that all businesses undergo an inspection, including those that are exempt from business licenses under state law. The measure will require that those establishments meet all current safety codes and requirements in place within the city. It includes churches, some doctors offices, real estate brokers, and more. The board will also vote on an ordinance to establish an enforcement mechanism. That one gives the city the authority to turn off utilities including water and sewer for businesses that are operating without a valid license. The Camdenton Board of Aldermen meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 6pm in Camdenton City Hall.
