A proposed merger between the Camdenton Fire Department and the Mid-CountyFire District takes another step forward during Tuesday night’s board of aldermen meeting. Administrator Jeff Hancock says, prior to the meeting, he was presented with a request that the city, instead, maybe look at hiring another full-time person and financing additional equipment.
If the merger is ultimately approved, plans call for the city to keep its own fire inspector who will also help with other compliance inspections within the city. The first reading of the bill was unanimously passed without any discussion before the vote. The second reading will be set for the next board meeting on the 20th of this month.
