On a 4-3 vote today, Camdenton’s School Board voted in favor of sending in a grant application for Race to the Top funds from the federal government. The grant’s goal is one-to-one computing, with every student having their own laptop or tablet, giving them direct access to resources, including textbooks, many of which are now on line. The goal is to better prepare young people for life after high school with a personal learning plan. The application’s expected to go out this week, and a yes or no could from the U.S. Education Department in December.
