Some anxious moments Sunday night in Camdenton when firefighters are called to a house fire with an occupant being reported as possibly still inside. Mid-County Chief Scott Frandsen says personnel were dispatched shortly before 7:30 to the house at 62 Newton Street and, upon arrival, discovered the single-story structure to be well involved. After being told the resident could be inside, firefighters entered the house to search while others started a rapid attack on the blaze itself. Several searches revealed that no one was inside at the time and the fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes. The fire, which apparently started in the bedroom area, caused extensive damage to the house and is being considered as accidental. There were no injuries. Assisting at the scene were personnel from Osage Beach and Sunrise Beach, the Camden County Ambulance District, Camdenton police and public works department and Laclede Electric.
