The city of Camdenton is taking another thirty days to decide whether or not they should change their electronic sign ordinance.
The issue began when Farmers Insurance on Highway 54 began playing video and commercials on their message board, something currently not allowed under city code. Alderman Sandy Osborn says the original 30 day window where businesses could play what they like during the day wasn’t long enough to make a decision.
If the board chooses to make a change and allow video, planning and zoning will get involved.
The police had no accidents due to electronic signs nor any complaints to city hall during the original 30 day trial.
