The city of Camdenton is moving forward with the first reading of the upcoming budget.

Officials say one of their main priorities for the new budget is to find a way to balance the spending and limit the amount of funds pulled from reserves.

A report shows that tax revenue is increasing despite the COVID 19 shutdowns earlier this year.

Officials say much of that is due to the new influx of second home owners, escaping the larger cities, but the city still plans to be cautiously optimistic when preparing the budget items.

In the new budget, city employees will see a 45-cent increase, which amounts to a yearly number of around $936 dollars.
