A change in the water and sewer rates could be on its way to the City of Camdenton. During their meeting earlier this week, the Board of Aldermen approved the first reading of an ordinance that will change the late fees, as well as the disconnect fees and their base rates. The proposal would change the late fee from 1.5% of the bill to 10%, the disconnect fees to $25 for a first offense, $50 for a second, and $100 for a third, and the base rate from $10 to $11 for water and $8.28 to $9 for the sewer rate. City Administrator Jeff Hancock believes, in comparison, these rate changes are very reasonable.
They will hold the second reading for the rate change at their next meeting on May 16.
