State budget cuts have pushed a couple of area police agencies to step up to make sure retailers are complying with state liquor laws. Tomorrow night, Camdenton’s Board of Aldermen is expected to approve joining a multi-jurisdictional team for alcohol compliance checks. The team so far includes Lake Ozark and Osage Beach Police. Cuts to the Missouri Department of Public Safety’s Alcohol and Tobacco Control division will mean fewer officers available for those checks at area bars, restaurants and other alcohol retailers.
