The City of Camdenton is working on improvements and maintenance at the city park. Parks Director Larry Bennett says they’ve got several projects in the works, including some routine repairs. They parks board will be looking to fix damages to some shelter roofs that lost shingles, a leaky roof in the restroom facility, and repairs around the driveway and parking areas. In terms of playground equipment, they’re replacing an older 8-foot metal slide with a new plastic one. That will have some additional costs associated with it. They’ve got to create a bigger footprint for the new slide and regulations require that they replace the pea gravel with a recycled rubber surfacing. The total cost on the slide replacement comes to about $12,000. These items and other projects will be discussed when the park board meets October 5th.
