The Camdenton Police Department recently received some good news and some bad news as it relates to grant applications filed by the agency. Chief Laura Wright says the department has been approved for a MoDot Traffic Grant to help cover costs of overtime for added enforcement during targeted campaigns between October of this year and September of next year. They also received a grant from the Department of Justice covering half of the cost for some new ballistic vests for officers. A grant they applied for to provide safety upgrades including new security cameras for some Camdenton schools was not approved. The CPD still has another grant application pending that, if approved, would cover the costs of body cameras and video storage.
