Camdenton City Administrator Jeff Hancock says they’ve been awarded a grant to finalize a runway extension project at the Camdenton Memorial Lake Regional Airport. Hancock says it took years to acquire the property needed for the expansion. The Board of Aldermen is expected to approve acceptance of the grant when they meet next week.
The grading and prep work will cost an estimated $4.2 million, while the construction on the extension will cost roughly $1 million. Work will begin sometime next year. Hancock says the announcement represents a major economic development tool for the entire lake region.
