Camdenton R-III schools have approved an agreement to serve as an emergency shelter and resource center in times of emergencies or disasters. Superintendent Tim Hadfield says the agreement covers more than just using the buildings as a place for people to sleep.
The school’s fleet of buses is also available for transportation as needed. Ron Gentry is in charge of emergency management for Camden County and has been spearheading the effort to update the county’s emergency response plans.
The agreement approved this week establishes operational guidelines in partnership with the American Red Cross.
