Camdenton announced plans this week to work on a previous design of a Community center. Back in 2007, Then Mayor Mike Wackerman began the process by creating a committee whose goal was to create a recreation facility for the community. Each year the city has been saving around $240, 000 from the special revenue tax in order to build the project. The project was delayed during the economic downturn but since the city has set aside over One Million Dollars thus far, they believe now is the time to begin the process. There is no location selected at this time but officials believe the completion of the comprehensive plan they will be able to choose a location and begin the process of contracting for development. The city plans to complete the plan by mid to late 2015.
