Upgrades at the Camdenton Memorial Lake Regional Airport are nearly complete as we head into the winter months.
City Administrator Jeff Hooker tells KRMS News next steps are finishing the final grading and pavement projects for Forbes and Opportunity roads.
Hooker expects paving of the new runways and taxiways should be finished by the Summer time, but the roadway and grading will be finished by January.
The nearly $5 Million dollar expansion project was funded mostly through grants, some of which had to be extended at this week’s board of alderman meeting.
That will open the door to larger aircraft for groups like musicians or little league sports teams, who can now fly to Camdenton instead of Springfield in order to participate at the new Ball Parks National or play at the Ozarks Amphitheater.
