About 30 people were on hand Tuesday night for a public hearing on a proposed sewer expansion project for Camelot estates. Sources say almost no one in attendance spoke in favor of abandoning their septic systems for a central sewer. Camelot currently has 550 customers paying an average of $68 per month for service and a plan to hook up as many as 550 new customers thru the proposed project. The plan is expected to go to the Camden County commission by the end of next year and could then be put to a vote for residents in the expansion area. Last night’s meeting was sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks council of local governments.
