April is National Child Abuse Awareness Month. A candlelight vigil will be held Saturday night in Osage Beach:
Police Sgt. Arlyne Page says the vigil will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., outside Osage Beach City Hall:
Today, in Camdenton, a garden of pinwheels was planted outside the Camden County Courthouse, to raise awareness about child abuse. The pinwheel is symbolic of a child’s innocence, which is lost far too soon for hundreds of local children each year.
Next weekend, the Camden County Child Advocacy Council will sponsor its 5K Run/Walk Into Awareness. Held in conjunction with the Dogwood Festival, the race will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 21st at Bob Shore Stadium on the Camdenton High School campus.
