A major meat producer in Missouri is closing their doors. According to reports, the Cargill Inc meat slicing and packaging plant that employs 118 people is shutting down their Springfield facility. The company announced Friday plans to move the operation to their locations in Nebraska and Texas. The plan will close March 11th and the works are being offered a severance package along with relocation to other facilities. Cargill bought the facility in 2008 when they bought Brook Foods.
