It was one heck of a race for the Two Dam Days paddle event this year with records being busted and a California native taking the crown. For the past four years, Olympic champion Michael Herbert has held the records on the Lake. This year however, Guinness book of world records holder Carter Johnson took the spotlight by shattering Herbert’s record by 16 minutes on the first leg of the race, fighting against wind and high waves. On day two, Johnson strolled into Beaver’s to win beating Herbert by 5 seconds. Johnson walked home with a cool $3,880 when it was all said and done.
