Last week, Jean Horral with the Smoke-Free Lake Coaltion spoke in front of the Osage Beach Board of Aldermen. She has teamed up with Alderman Jeff Bethurem to propose a change in the tobacco age from 18 to 21. As a nurse, she noticed a problem at the school when jr. high kids were smoking.
The initiative received overwhelming support from the board. Because of that, since some municipalities didn’t want to be the first to make a move, they have now been reaching out to aldermen all around the Lake Area.
