Changes Announced for St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Calling it an issue of safety, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade through Lake Ozark will go on as planned but with a slight twist. A press release issued by city hall indicates that the distribution of candy will be streamlined by having participants walking alongside the floats making sure the goodies arrive to the kids in a safe manner…

Police Chief Gary Launderville say there were a couple close calls last year with kids running in front of vehicles along the route. Launderville also cautions, despite the perceived spirit of the holiday, there are still no exceptions to the city’s open container law…

The 36th annual event is set to start at 1-PM on Saturday, March 14th. The parade is sponsored by the Bagnell Dam Strip Association. More information about the parade is available by checking out the website: www.lakestpatsparade.com.
