If you think that letter you’re mailing today to someone in Missouri will get there quickly, think again. Changes are coming to the Mail system starting this Monday. US postal representatives say that a letter sent from Osage Beach to Springfield use to happen overnight, now it could take up to 3 days. This is all in an effort to help the struggling mail company as more and more people use e-mail. The USPS says first class mail has dropped nearly 53% in the last decade and they’re hoping to save $20 billion through these cuts by 2017. The postal service is also planning to close 82 processing facilities throughout the country including a few in Missouri.
