Charges Dropped Against Woman Suspected In 2001 Brumley Murder Case

A woman from the Lake Area has murder charges dropped in Miller County.

Tabetha Mae Carter was arrested in January as part of an investigation into the death of Jerry Allen Jeffries in Brumley in 2001.

Miller County Senior Public Defender Justine Finney.

She tells KRMS News Carter was arrested in Oklahoma after she moved away from the Lake Area and used different names.

But she also says there wasn’t enough evidence showing Carter committed murder to make it past a preliminary hearing.

Finney says she’s not aware of any other suspects in Jeffries 2001 murder.
