Initial charges have been filed against a Camdenton man in the case of a 33 year old Lebanon woman’s suspicious death last month.

The body of Hope Arnold was found in a roadside ditch in Hazlegreen in Laclede County last Monday, September 26th.

In a statement the Laclede County Sheriff says 39 year old Robert Nyman was charged Friday with leaving the scene of an accident involving a death for a September 9th crash just hours after the victim was released from prison.

The statement says are after speaking with witnesses investigators believe Arnold was in a car driven by Nyman when it crashed and burned on Route 66 killing the woman.

Witnesses also reported seeing a pickup truck containing an unnamed man and a woman stop and help Nyman place her body in the truck.

The two are expected to also face charges, and the charges against Nyman may be upgraded as the investigation continues.

Nyman, who reportedly has a long criminal history and several outstanding warrants, is being held on no bond.

Unconfirmed reports say Nyman is the stepson of a man who died in a fiery crash in August who the victim had exchanged letters with while she was in prison.
