The hot and dry weather may be ideal for drawing people to the Lake, but it can also be a recipe for tragedy. That’s according to Jeff Green, shoreline supervisor for Ameren, who says…recent rain aside…the Lake Area is under a heightened level of concern because the current weather can often cause damage to electrical systems on docks…
There have been a couple recent incidents in which electricity was reported in the water here at the lake. Fortunately, those incidents did not prove to be fatal for those involved. Green goes onto say the best advice he can give to dock owners is to regularly check their property and all electrical components connected to their docks starting with the G-F-C-I receptacles.
