A Pulaski County man has been charged with possessing child pornography.
32 year old Joshua Warner was arrested on a Pulaski County warrant June 5 and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography. An investigation into Warner’s activities was conducted by the South Central Missouri Computer Crime Task Force, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Homeland Security.
The investigation centered on peer-to-peer networks — which is where users can send files over the Internet to each other using programs installed on their computers. These peer-to-peers were being used to exchange child abuse images and videos. The sheriff’s department and task force both served a search warrant at a home on Highway 28 south of Dixon in Aug. 2011. During the search, fficers seized computers and optical media for examination.
During the examination a number of child abuse video files were found.
Warner’s court date is not known at this time.
