Childcare workers are getting a bump from the state in order to handle the large loads of children needing care.
The Departments of Health and Senior Services and Social Services taking regulatory action to allow providers to exceed normal capacity by 1/3rd and allow for temporary care of pre-school and school age children, under a short term 45-day temporary license.
Additionally, all Child Care Subsidy program benefits and application procedures are extended for another 90 days.
The CCS program will also cover a portion of the costs for those affected by the school closings.
