The Church of the Nazarene in Camdenton has asked for some changes in zoning. In the first case, the church on Bear Paw Road wants the property designation switched from agricultural/Residential to commercial, in order to operate a fireworks tent fundraiser for the 4th of July holiday. Members of a nearby Homeowners Association and other residents opposed the request, at a meeting last Wednesday night, so the decision was continue to the next meeting of the Camden County Planning and Zoning Commission, which will be July 20th. The Church would also like zoning changed to expand daycare operations. It’s only set up for 10 children, right now, but 30 children are attending. A 50 child day care requires commercial zoning.
