The City of Sunrise Beach will have to wait a little longer to find out if they’ll save money on a $629-thousand clean water state revolving fund loan that was awarded back in 2013. Originally, the Safe Drinking Water Commission was set to meet at the state capitol next week, however that meeting has been canceled. Up for discussion was a recommendation by the clean water commission to reduce the current one-percent annual loan administrative fee down to one-half percent. There are 51 other clean water direct loans, statewide, that would also see the administrative fee reduced. The fee changes would not affect the administration of the loan program but would, however, reduce the amount of funding available for other purposes over a five-year period. The clean water commission will decide on whether or not to reduce the administrative fees currently being collected during their next meeting, which is tentatively scheduled for July 19th.
