A Climax Springs man faces nine charges after leading authorities on a high speed pursuit in Camden County. The chase began Sunday night when a Camden County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle to investigate the window tint. The car began speeding away, leading the deputy on a winding chase over multiple roads that reached in excess of 100 mph. At one point the suspect allegedly through something out of the vehicle which was recovered by another officer. The pursuit ended when the vehicle became disabled. A search of the car and the box turned up several alleged drugs including methamphetamine and prescription pills. The suspect, identified as John Pawelczak, has a criminal record including five previous drug convictions. Now he faces four counts of possession, resisting by fleeing, careless & imprudent driving, and three traffic and motor vehicle violations.
