The Village of Climax Springs has voted to dissolve the corporation of the community. With only a total of 34 votes being cast, 28 voted in favor while 6 were opposed. Camden County Second District Commissioner Cliff Luber explains what happens now.
Also from Tuesday’s election, the Osage Beach Fire tax went down in defeat with 227 NO votes compared with 176 voting in favor. The District was asking for a 15 cent levy increase per 100 dollars of property valuation. The Southwest Camden County Fire tax also did not pass. 84% of voters said NO to a 30 cent levy while only 16% voted in favor. The Stoutland School District was asking for a levy adjustment from two-75 per one hundred thousand dollars of assessed valuation to just over three-43 per one hundred thousand dollars. That proposition went down in defeat with 138 NO votes compared to 104 voting in favor.
