Co-Mo Electric’s issued a Peak Alert because of the intense heat. The alert’s from 5 to 9 p.m. tomorrow, with forecasters expecting triple temps and a lot of tourists in the Lake District, leading to higher demand on the power grid. During Peak Alerts, members are asked to limit their use of major appliances and turn off any lights, tv’s or small appliances when not in use. Delaying using your washing machine or dishwasher until after 9 tomorrow night, won’t just help Co-Mo save money on its energy costs but also help members keep their homes cooler during the hottest part of the day. Another way you can help is to turn up your thermostat by three degrees during the alert hours.
