A code yellow alert has been issued for all blood types from the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. Chris Pilgrim, Marketing Manager of the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, says the winter storm has caused a huge impact on their blood supply of all blood types, and a couple in particular are approaching very critical levels.
Pilgrim says if you can, or find yourself with the availability to give blood this week please do. He says by the end of this week, if there isn’t enough blood donated, they could get down to a code red alert and that hasn’t happened since the Joplin tornado in 2011.
Although there are not any blood drives coming to the Lake area this week, there will be some next week in our area. to get those dates and locations, go to cbco.org.
