There will soon be a new superintendent for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Col. Ron Replogle has announced that he will be retiring in May.
Governor Jay Nixon announced that Replogle’s retirement has nothing to do with the Highway Patrol’s involvement in the law enforcement response to Ferguson or a Wednesday night committee hearing on the issue. Replogle has been with the Highway Patrol for over 30 years, 5 of which he spent as superintendent. Nixon is expected to appoint Major Bret Johnson to the position in March pending senate confirmation.
