A bill in the Missouri House is beginning to raise concerns around the Lake Area. House Bill 1090 would require all proposed TIFs to be approved by a majority vote of all registered voters. Camden County Presiding Commissioner Greg Hasty says the legislation would significantly reduce the number of TIFs that are handed out and, based upon how that affected the State of California, it would severely damage the Lake of the Ozarks economically.
House Bill 1090 was recently sent to the Committee of Ways and Means. It currently does not appear on the House calendar.
